Gender-Affirming Voice and Communication Training

rory_world_individual-10.png

Communication, including our voice, is a unique expression of who we are. When either is out of harmony with how we identify it can be disorienting, and dysphoric. At RJVC, identity-affirming voice and communication training means that we focus on finding a style that truly reflects who you are, not just conforming to societal norms or gender expectations. We have a strong relationship with Montréal's LGBTQ+ community and have undergone specialized training to support our transgender and non-binary clients.

Our first session will involve a comprehensive evaluation of your voice using acoustic and perceptual measures. Together, we will explore altering your voice to better align with your identity by setting clear goals together.

Areas of voice training can include speaking pitch, resonance (i.e., bright/dark), vocal weight, inflection, language use, and breath. If you have questions or want to book a free initial consultation with speech-language pathologist, Rory Jack Cleator, contact us for more information.
